Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using HangoutU, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part, please do not use our platform. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Hangoutu.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use HangoutU. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. We reserve the right to verify your age and deny access if we believe you do not meet this criterion.

3. Nature of Service

HangoutU is a platform that connects like-minded individuals looking to share activities such as trips, events, and hangouts. We are not:

• A travel agency or tour operator
• An event management company
• A dating or matchmaking service
• Responsible for interactions between users

4. Account Registration

When you create an account with HangoutU, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access

5. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for any illegal purposes
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Spam, solicit, or advertise without permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform
• Use the service for commercial purposes without approval

6. Plans & Events

When creating or joining a plan on HangoutU:

• Organizers are responsible for providing accurate information about their plans.
• Participants are responsible for verifying details and communicating with organizers.
• HangoutU does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of any plan.
• All participation is at your own risk.

7. Payments & Cost Sharing

Organised trips may be booked and paid for online through HangoutU. Payments are processed by our payment partners, Razorpay and Cashfree Payments. HangoutU does not store your full card details.

• Who you are paying: HangoutU collects online payments on behalf of the organiser and passes them on, less our commission. The organiser remains the provider of the trip and is responsible for delivering it as described.
• Prices: Organisers set their own prices. The amount you will be charged is shown before you pay.
• Deposits: Some trips let you reserve a seat with a deposit and pay the balance later. The balance must be paid online by the deadline shown on the trip page (72 hours before the trip starts unless stated otherwise). If it is not paid in time, your booking is cancelled, your seat is released and the deposit is not refunded.
• Payments outside HangoutU: For trips listed with online booking, pay only through HangoutU. Payments made to organisers or other users outside the platform are not covered by these Terms, and we are not responsible for disputes or losses arising from them.
• Casual plans: For plans without online booking, any cost sharing (such as splitting fuel or bills) is arranged directly between users.

8. Cancellations & Refunds

• If you cancel a fully paid booking at least 48 hours before the trip starts, you receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the start are not refunded.
• If you cancel a deposit booking, the deposit is not refunded. Any balance already paid is refunded under the same 48-hour rule.
• If the organiser cancels the trip or your booking, you receive a full refund of all amounts you paid for that booking.
• Refunds are made to the original payment method. The time taken for a refund to reach you depends on your bank or payment provider.

9. Organisers

If you publish trips or events as an organiser, you also agree to the following:

• Your listings are accurate, and you deliver each trip as described, including its price, inclusions, dates and itinerary.
• HangoutU charges a commission on each online booking at the rate for your plan (Free, Starter or Pro, or a separately agreed rate), as shown in the organiser dashboard. Paid plans are billed as a subscription.
• Payouts for bookings are released to your verified bank account according to the schedule shown in the organiser dashboard. You must complete identity and bank verification to receive payouts.
• If you cancel a trip or a booking, travellers are refunded in full as set out in section 8, and HangoutU may recover the corresponding amounts from your payouts.
• You are responsible for your own licences, permits and taxes (including GST) relating to your trips and income.

10. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you post. By posting content, you grant HangoutU a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content on our platform.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or is otherwise objectionable.

11. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

12. Limitation of Liability

This includes, but is not limited to, damages arising from user interactions, travel activities, or any other events facilitated through our platform.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms, guidelines, or any applicable laws.
